We visited The Gamer's Edge on our way to an Airbnb we rented for Friendsgiving in the Poconos. This store is beautifully situated along a bustling main street in Stroudsburg with plenty of shops and restaurants. I wished we had more time to walk around, exploring the area, however we had just enough time to pick up boxes of Crimson Vow, a single or two, and get on our way.

Selection
Many stores seem to favor either "general nerd store" or "come here just to play Magic." This is not the case with The Gamer's Edge as they have both breadth and depth of selection. At the front of the store you'll find a good selection of board games and posters, etc, but as you continue you'll find a healthy selection of comics, Warhammer sets, vintage toys, vintage controllers and accessories, general nerd paraphernalia, and even painted Warhammer figures for sale.Beyond the high-value singles in the case, they also have singles from many years of Magic's past organized into binders by set behind the counter.
Cleanliness
The store wasn't spotless, but I certainly wouldn't say it was dirty. You can tell they've been there for a good number of years. The carpet is splitting in some areas, there's a little clutter, especially in the back, but overall the store is acceptably clean.Friendliness
We only saw one employee in our single visit. He was friendly enough, but definitely fell more on the 'product-knowledge' end of the spectrum instead of 'customer-service.' I know some folks may prefer to be left completely alone, however I confess I expect to be briefly greeted if I'm hanging out at the counter, checking out singles. (Assuming the employee isn't engaged with another customer, of course.) Once I engaged him, however, he was friendly enough - Answered my questions, got me binders to look through from behind the counter, etc. However it was clear he was happy to answer my questions but didn't want to hold a conversation.
Play Space/Events
There's plenty of space and tables in the back - At least 11 by my count. Clearly folks like to come here to hobby as a person or two were sitting at the tables, opening packs/building decks, etc. The employee said they run your normal events such as pre-release and drafts. While its unlikely we'll be able to make the drive for an event anytime soon, I can say the play space itself is large and suitable, and I can imagine a large turn-out for events.
Value
We visited on the release day of Innistrad: Crimson Vow. We both wanted to pick up a set box which we had seen for $140 at stores nearer to us. The Gamer's Edge sold us set boxes for $110 each. (Hskae, of course, pulling a foil showcase Sorin. And he says I always pull better... I digress.)
They have a blended model for singles prices. If you pick something from the binders you'll pay at least $0.25, $0.50, or $1 depending or rarity. They said for anything over $1 in value they use TCGPlayer prices, which I always appreciate. I picked up a foil full-art pathway for a good price.
Regarding Warhammer, they have a good selection of bundles, priced far cheaper than they would normally be. Their newer kits are all standard GW pricing, however.
Niche Notes
If you were visiting the Poconos or this area in general I would highly recommend spending an afternoon exploring the Main St where The Gamer's Edge is. There were so many shops and places to eat, however it didn't feel touristy. I felt like this area would be a nice place to live, which makes you feel like a local. I even was able to purchase a new camera bag from an independent camera store a block or so down.
Final Thoughts
The Gamer's Edge is a nice game store! While it may not have all the polish and pizzazz as other stores, its perfectly suitable and serves its patrons well. I enjoy the selection of singles, could see myself using their play space, and enjoyed my brief visit.
